Analysis of early growth and production performance of Bashang Long-tail chickens and Green-shell laying chickens
In order to study the relationship between early body weight, tibia length, and opening performance of Bashang Long-tail chickens and green-shell laying chickens,an optimal regression equation based on body weight, tibia length, and opening per-formance was established.A total of 200 one-day-old Bashang Long-tail chickens and green-shell laying chickens were randomly selected to determine the body weight at 5-week-old(X1),body weight at 6-week-old(X2),body weight at 7-week-old(X3),tibia length at 5-week-old(X4),tibia length at 6-week-old(X5),tibia length at 7-week-old(X6),age at first egg(Y1),body weight at first egg(Y2)and egg weight at the first(Y3).Correlation and regression analysis were carried out.The results showed as follows:the laying day age of green-shell laying chickens was significantly earlier than that of Bashang Long-tail chickens(p<0.01),body weight at first egg and egg weight at the first of Bashang Long-tail chickens were significantly higher than those of green-shell laying chickens(p<0.01).The body weight, tibia length, body weight at first egg and egg weight at the first of Bashang Long-tail chickens and green-shell laying chickens at 5-7 weeks of age were significantly positively correlated(p<0.01)but were not significantly negatively correlated with laying day of age(p>0.05).The optimal regression equations of Bashang Long-tail chickens and green-shell laying chickens are worked out.The results indicate that the opening performance of Bashang Long-tailed hens and green-shell laying hens can be predicted and evaluated by the growth character indexes.
