Effects of Chinese herbal feed additives on blood biochemical indices of laying hens and the effect of organ index
This study was conducted to investigate the effects of Chinese herbal additives on the regulation and utilization of fat intake and blood biochemical indexes of laying hens in the late laying period.Forty 400-day-old Hyline brown laying hens were randomly divided into a control group and an experimental group. The control group was fed a normal diet, and the experimental group was fed an experimental diet supplemented with 1%Chinese herbal medicine for 30 d.The results showed as follows:com-pared with the control group, the contents of total protein and globulin in the blood of laying hens in experimental groups were sig-nificantly increased(p<0.01),while the contents of albumin/globulin,glutacyltransferase,lactate dehydrogenase, total choles-terol,and triglyceride were extremely significantly decreased(p<0.01).The contenls of aspartase transferase, lipase and crea-tine kinase, were significantly decreased(p<0.05).The liver index of the experimental group was significantly lower than that of the control group(p<0.01).The immune organ index of spleen, thymus, and bursa of Fabricius had an increasing trend, but the difference was not significant(p>0.05).The results showed that Chinese herbal additives could enhance the immune function of laying hens, regulate lipid metabolism, and reduce the stress response of chickens,so as to relieve and treat the fatty liver of chickens.
