Leak Filling:the Dissemination and Application of Microform Technology in Modern Chinese Library Circle
Based on the new historical materials,this study improved the history of the dissemination and application of microfilm technology in the modern Chinese library circle.The earliest library periodical that introduced microform technology was Library Science Quarterly,but the publication time was 1932 rather than 1936.Some non-library newspapers and periodicals even reported earlier on the application of microfilm technology in libraries.After 1935,various newspapers and periodicals began to popularize micrographics widely,which enhanced the recognition of microform technology in modern Chinese library circles.The actual application of microfilm technology in Chinese library circle began in 1933,not 1935,when libraries paid someone to copy rare Chinese books abroad and bring back microfilm.The Chinese library circle officially uses microfilm cameras to replicate literature,in addition to the Union Medical College Library in 1940,there was also the Lingnan University Library in the same year.During the Anti Japanese War,the United States gradually donated some microfilm and a small amount of projectors to China,in addition to the"International Academic and Cultural Information Supply"project in 1942,there was also the"Promoting the Development of Chinese Drama"project in 1940.
