Discussion on Religious Culture Categories Based on the Principle of Classification Indexing
Investigating the problems such as the lack of logic in the system structure and the nonstandard compilation of the category number in"B9 religion"in Chinese Library Classification(fifth edition),and confusion in the classification indexing of religious culture in the National Library and CNKI academic journal databases,so as to provide reference for the revision of CLC.According to the constituent elements of religion and the logical relationship between categories,Buddhism,Christianity,Islam(the three major religions),other religions and fortune-telling are taken as the main headings of religion,and religious philosophy,religious doctrines,religious system and other common issues are taken as the contents of"theory and methodology"of religious,so as to facilitate the re division of various religions.The specific content of the fortune-telling is set as special subdivide table,in order to provide convenience for subdivide of fortune-telling in various countries.By improving the category of"B9 religion",the scalability of the category is enhanced and the space of the classification is saved.
