Effect of direct shear rate on strength and deformation of cemented calcareous sand
An in-depth study of the mechanical properties and deformation of cement cementitious calcareous sand affected by shear displacement, six rates and four kinds of cementitious degree of bivariate straight shear tests were carried out on calcareous sand. The test results show that the shear strength of cement ce-mented calcareous sand decreases first and then increases with the increase of the rate. After cementation, calcareous sand gradually increases with the increase of cementation degree, and the shear strength gradual-ly increases, but the shear strength at lower cementation is slightly lower than that without cementation. In terms of shear strength index, with the increase of shear rate or cementation degree, the cohesion showed an upward trend, and the internal friction angle showed a downward trend. In terms of deformation,cement-cemented calcareous sand under low vertical pressure at different shear rates is more likely to show the form of first shearing and then shear expansion. At higher vertical pressures,it is easy to show a shear form, but the degree of shear shrinkage weakens with the increase of the rate.
