Experimental study on basic properties of clay fill materials containing heterogeneous soils
In order to solve the current problems of soft foundation and insufficient soil material for embank-ment construction,a lightweight embankment material with high construction efficiency and good impermea-bility was developed by selecting a clay containing miscellaneous soil near the embankment project, adding appropriate curing agent and active agent, and pumping it through pipeline after thorough mixing and stir-ring.By changing the cement, clay and foam admixture, orthogonal test and extreme difference analysis were used to obtain the primary and secondary size relationships of each influencing factor of the modified soil.Scanning electron microscopy was used to microscopically analyze the pore structure inside the modified soils with different foam and lithium slag admixtures to observe the porosity size and pore connectivity. The experimental results showed that the order of the influence of each factor on the compressive strength and water absorption of the modified soil was cement,foam,water-cement ratio, and clay in descending order.Mixing with fly ash and lithium slag can improve the compressive strength of the modified soil, and the ma-terial improves the basic properties of clay containing miscellaneous soils and is suitable for embankment projects.
