X Language,Methodology and Tools:New-Generation Integrated Modeling and Simulation Technology Supporting MBSE
In the current practices of Model-Based Systems Engineering(MBSE),it is still difficult to achieve a true closed-loop between system design and simulation experimentation, due to limitations in the existing modeling languages, methodologies, and tools.Consequently, the full value of MBSE cannot be completely realized. In order to address this issue, this paper introduces a new generation integrated modeling and simulation language-the X language, along with its technology system, which includes the hybrid system modeling framework-XDEVS,the structure and fundamental elements of X language,a modeling and simulation-based systems engineering methodology supported by X language-X-SEM,and the modeling and simulation software for X language-XLab.The X language-based technology system enables unified modeling and simulation of the whole system. Finally, the system development process with the X language and corresponding methodology and tools is illustrated through a case study.
