Numerical Simulation of High-velocity Impact with ANSYS/LS-DYNA
A nonlinear dynamical finite element method based on ANSYS/LS-DYNA code was introduced to simulate the physical process of a projectile penetrated against target plates at a speed of about 1000 m/s. By using of this method, the velocity, acceleration, energy changing curve and Von-Mises stress-nephogram were obtained. Simulation results can help us explore the evolutive rule quantificationally and qualitatively of the penetration process. And the results show that the method is feasible.
