促进还是抑制:合作网络嵌入对组织创新绩效影响

基于嵌入性及网络多元化理论,利用中国生物技术领域的专利申请授权数据及负二项回归方法,探究知识网络强关系嵌入和结构嵌入约束下合作网络嵌入对创新绩效的作用机理,以及技术多元化水平在合作网络嵌入与创新绩效之间的传导作用.进一步地,探寻外部环境异质性及组织自身类型差异条件下,合作网络嵌入对组织创新绩效的作用路径.研究结果表明,合作网络强关系嵌入、弱关系嵌入对创新绩效具有积极效应,合作网络结构嵌入与创新绩效呈倒U形曲线关系.知识网络强关系嵌入负向调节合作网络强关系嵌入及结构嵌入对创新绩效的影响,对合作网络弱关系嵌入与创新绩效关系的负向调节效应不显著;知识网络结构嵌入正向调节合作网络弱关系嵌入与创新绩效的关系,对合作网络强关系嵌入及结构嵌入与创新绩效的调节作用不显著.合作网络嵌入除了对创新绩效具有直接作用外,还可以通过技术多元化影响创新绩效的发展,其中,合作网络结构嵌入的中介效应最为有效,其后依次为强关系嵌入和弱关系嵌入.进一步研究发现,合作网络嵌入与创新绩效的关系受区域经济发展水平和组织类型的不同影响而存在差异.研究结论丰富了合作网络嵌入对创新绩效影响机理的情景机制,为组织利用合作网络嵌入破解创新困境提供了新思路.
Building upon theories of network embeddedness and network diversification,based on the data of patent authorization from the field of Biotechnology in China,we employ the negative binomial regression model to explore the internal mechanism and applicable conditions between cooperative network embeddedness and organizational innovation performance under the constraints of strong relational embedding and structural embedding of knowledge network,and the mediating effect of technology diversification on cooperation network embedding and innovation performance.Furthermore,it explores the paths of cooperative network embedment on organizational innovation performance under the conditions of external environment heterogeneity and organizational type difference.This study shows that strong and weak relationship embeddedness of cooperative network have positive effects on innovation performance,and the relationship between structural embeddedness of cooperative network and innovation performance presents an inverted U-shaped curve.Strong relational embeddedness of knowledge network negatively moderates the effect of strong relational embeddedness and structural embeddedness of cooperative network on innovation performance,while the negative moderating effect between weak relational embedding and innovation performance is not significant.Structural embeddedness of knowledge network positively moderates the relationship between weak embeddedness of cooperative network and innovation performance.Besides the direct effect,network embeddedness also can influence the development of innovation performance through technological diversification.The mediation effect of cooperative network structure embedding is the most effective,followed by strong relationship embedding and weak relationship embedding.Furthermore,this study explores that the relationship between cooperative network embedding and innovation performance varies by regional economic development level and organization type.The research results enrich the scenario mechanism of the influence mechanism of cooperative network embedding,and provide a new idea for organizations to solve the innovation dilemma by using cooperative network embedding.
