Boileau's poetics is not completely equivalent to classicism.Classicism is a major part of its poetics contents,but it cannot be ignored that it also contains non classical ideas,such as passion,sensibility,and poetry.The complex pattern of the coexistence of consistency and heterogeneity between Boileau's poetics and classicism highlights the tension relationship between literary spirit and the spirit of the times,reflecting the inspiration and care of Boileau's poetics for literature.It is in this sense that classicism has achieved profound connotations in Boileau's poetics.In addition,recognizing the diversity of Boileau's poetics is the essential way to break through its being labelled.
