Role Expectations for LLMs:a Comparative Analysis Based on X and Weibo Contexts
The LLM represents a revolutionary breakthrough in artificial intelligence technology, rapidly gaining widespread attention both domestically and internationally. This article analyzes the role expectations for LLMs on two platforms,X and Weibo,to explore the cognitive differences in perceptions of frontier technologies between English and Chinese language contexts. In general, the expectation of Weibo platform is more inclined to practical industrial development and application, while the expectation of X platform is more inclined to the development of information dissemination technology.Specifically,in terms of technological role expectations, the English context of the X platform pays more attention to the application scenarios of the LLMs in different fields and the cross-fertilization of frontier technologies, while the Chinese context pays more attention to the correlation between the LLMs and the development of the Internet industry. In terms of human role expectation, the biggest human role expectation of Weibo is creator, which means that the LLMs are expected to create new things through thinking and skills in the fields of art, design, etc.;while the biggest human role expectation of X is communicator, which is regarded as a medium of information exchange and dissemination. Finally, two suggestions on how to rationally face social role expectation with the development of new technologies are presented.
