As a cultural practice popular among young people today,stand-up comedy has become a prominent phenomenon. This study aims to analyze the emotional state and shared experiences of Chinese youth behind the popularity of standup comedy, focusing on the subjective cognition and emotional reactions of the audience based on standup comedy texts—specifically interpreting the concept of"laughter"in standup comedy practices. The research identifies three specific aspects of humor discourse in standup comedy:realism, emotionality, and skillfulness, all of which violate the context. These aspects form a humorous discourse structure that transitions from skillful reception to the flow of meaning, with violation of he terogeneous item being actively marked and becoming a common trend. In terms of humor cognition, the audience forms two cognitive responses:social insight and hedonistic experience. This process of humor practice reveals the affective structure of contemporary youth's"carnival of heterogeneous aesthetic".This attention to cognitive responses among young people contributes to understanding new media cultural phenomena and prompts reflection on the continuity and rupture between social change and generational attitudes.
