"Be a Xunpu Woman for one day":How to Construct Collective Imagination by Shooting Short Video at an Internet Famous Site
The rapid proliferation of short videos filmed at Internet-famous locations has undoubtedly propelled the popularity of specific individuals,objects,and sites,yet the underlying process remains underexplored.Through a media anthropology investigation into the short video shooting practices of tourists within a web celebrity community,this study illuminates the collective imagination underlying the phenomenon of"being a Xunpu woman for one day."This process unfolds through stages of visual imagination,immersion in others'livelihoods,and ultimately,an appreciation of local cultural traditions.It represents a contemporary manifestation of individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds seeking to emulate specific local culture within the global tourism industry and information technology landscape.The collective imagination surrounding short video production at Internet-famous sites underscores the innate human capacity to adapt and create within the global era.Individuals and groups draw upon novel elements while simultaneously weaving rich cultural tapestries within the overlapping cultural spaces,reflecting their preferences and identities.This study contributes to our understanding of how individuals navigate and shape cultural landscapes in the digital age,highlighting the dynamic interplay between global trends,local traditions,and personal expression.
