Abstract
This article delves into the principles,development,impact,and limitations of generative video technology,exemplified by Sora,examining its role in reshaping the news media industry.It introduces a concept of"convergent reality,"defined by subjective experiences of"spatiotemporal immediacy,""dematerialization,""gigantic simulation,"and"digital empathy,"which emerge as novel industry paradigms.Additionally,it explores how this technology serves as a transcultural communication conduit,bridging the"Digital Tower of Babel,"and fostering the establishment of digital communities in the"Global South."
