摘要
秉持社会建构论的技术观,论文以SCOT分析框架对中国互联网平台企业的算法生产行为予以考察,以图揭开算法生产的"黑箱",赋予算法规制来自底层和细节的观照.研究发现,算法的技术细节构成算法黑箱的坚硬内核,这一内核存在的原因在于算法生产在社会实践层面的复杂性.缺少自主权的算法工程师与起主导作用的产品经理、作为末端反馈的运营人员共同组成算法生产的内部闭环;社会"连接"的需求、资本的驱动和政府的规制作为整体性的外部技术框架决定了算法生产内部闭环的技术结束机制和稳定化过程.产品经理驱动逻辑、资本主导逻辑和单一的规制手段构成中国语境下算法生产的独特性.由此,对于算法的规制有必要关注微观层面上算法生产不同环节从业者的职业伦理和主体性建设,以及在平抑资本力量的同时撬动用户对于算法的反制力量.
Abstract
Adhering to the view of the Social Construction of Technology,this paper investigates algorithm production by Chinese Internet platform companies.This study attempts to uncover the"black box"of algorithm production and give algorithm regulations a more comprehensive perspective.Algorithm engineers,product managers,and operators jointly form the internal closed loop of algorithm production.The external"technological frame"for algorithm production is driven by the demand of social connection,capital,and government regulations.They determine the"closure"and"stabilization"process of algorithms'internal closed-loop production.The uniqueness of algorithm production in China has several components:It is product manager driven,capital driven,and regulated with singular means.Therefore,it is necessary to pay attention to the professional ethics and subjectivity construction of practitioners from different positions.We also need to curb capital forces and promote users'resistance to algorithms.
