摘要
论文以十本代表性期刊二十年(2003-2023年)发表的相关论文作为研究对象,考察了传播学SSCI期刊中的中国互联网研究,试图探讨西方传播学界描绘了怎样的中国互联网图景.西方传播学者讨论了哪些中国互联网议题,如何对中国互联网进行研究,界定了哪些中国互联网问题,这些研究发现了什么.通过文献计量分析和文本研读,观察到西方传播学术镜像中的中国互联网在二十年中经历了变与不变,其中洞见与视差同在:一方面关于中国互联网的研究对象、事实材料、描述性结论不断拓展和深入,贡献了丰富、批判且有价值的角度、洞察和发现.另一方面,围绕中国互联网的问题意识、理论预设、归因判断等方面基本保持着西方内在逻辑的一致性,始终聚焦于民主与威权、赋权与控制、审查与逃避等二元框架,指向公共领域、意识形态、民主化、合法性等问题.这意味着西方传播学界的认知框架、思维方式和知识生产深刻影响着其关于中国互联网的研究.
Abstract
This paper examines Chinese Internet research in SSCI communication journals,using relevant papers as the research object.It focuses on ten representative journals published over the past 20 years(2003-2023).The goal is to explore how the Western communication academia has portrayed the Chinese Internet.The research questions are as follows:Which Chinese Internet issues have Western communication scholars discussed?How have they studied the Chinese Internet?What Chinese Internet issues have they defined?What has been discovered through these studies?Through bibliometric analysis and textual study,it is observed that the Chinese Internet in the Western communication academic mirror has experienced changes and constants in the past two decades,with both insights and parallax:On the one hand,the research objects,factual materials,and descriptive conclusions of the Chinese Internet have been continuously expanded and deepened,contributing to rich,critical,and valuable perspectives,insights,and discoveries.On the other hand,the problem consciousness,theoretical presuppositions,and attribution judgment of the Chinese Internet maintain the consistency of the Western internal logic,always focusing on the dual framework of democracy and authoritarianism,empowerment and control,censorship and evasion.As a result,they point to questions of the public sphere,ideology,democratization,and legitimacy.Western communication academia's cognitive framework,mode of thinking,and knowledge production profoundly impact their research on the Chinese Internet.
