[Purpose/Significance]This article provides an in-depth analysis of the current development status,challenges,and potential future opportunities of China's certificate authorities in the digital era.It offers strategic development suggestions aimed at promoting their transformation and upgrading,achieving sustainable development,and playing a more critical role in safeguarding network security and national security.[Method/Process]Firstly,the article reviews the development history of certificate authorities and analyzes the issues existing in key areas such as their business models,project dependency,and research and development capabilities.Subsequently,it discusses in detail the opportunities and challenges brought by policy advantages and emerging technologies,including blockchain,Web 3.0,distributed public key infrastructure(DPKI),and distributed digital identity(DID).Based on this,suggestions are put forward for comprehensive strategic planning,business model innovation,technological capability enhancement,and project management optimization.[Results/Conclusion]Finally,the article emphasizes that facing the watershed of development,certificate authorities must actively respond to challenges,embrace change,and adapt to the development of the times to ensure they play a more important role in the fields of network security and national security.
