The Key Procedures of Product Carbon Footprint Management of Photovoltaics in the European Union and Its Implications for China
This paper analyzes the importance of product carbon footprint management for photovoltaics in addressing international trade barriers, and discusses the progress and key processes in both domestic and international contexts, particularly in the European Union. It outlines six main steps:establishing a representative organizational structure, conducting stakeholder consultations, drafting rules based on guidelines, conducting screening and supporting studies, standardizing the use of data sets, and carrying out independent reviews, recommendations include the prompt release of guidelines to formulate PCRs,establishing an independent LCI database, developing representative international rules, and promoting mechanisms for international mutual recognition of carbon footprints. In response to the challenges faced by Chinese PV products, these suggestions provide valuable insights for enhancing the competitiveness of Chinese PV products and addressing carbon footprint barriers.
