Abstract
With advancements in commercial UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) technology, improvements in flight management regulations, and surging market demand, the low altitude economy is gradually unleashing its economic value and societal benefits, driving transformations in transportation modes, enhancing public service efficiency, and contributing to environmental protection and resource management, thereby emerging as a significant growth pole for future socioeconomic development. Currently, low altitude commercial UAV communication primarily relies on point-to-point WiFi,which lacks the capacity to support long-distance continuous flight. In contrast, mobile network operators have already established mature cellular communication networks that,in terms of technical standards, coverage, data rates, capacity, security, and reliability, can significantly bolster UAV Communication capabilities and associated services. This article focuses on analyzing the characteristics and challenges of utilizing existing mobile wireless networks for low altitude coverage and explores potential planning and construction schemes for dedicated low altitude wireless networks.
