清末江西巡抚对江西教案的处置研究

摘要
清末江西社会深受教案的冲击,严重地威胁着清政府的统治.为此,江西巡抚围绕调节官、绅、教、民诸阶层关系的目的,采取了设立洋务局、教务公所等机构,加强对地方官员的监督与考核,积极吸纳江西士绅参与等举措,试图以此建立处理教案的有效应对机制.与此同时,江西巡抚转变了对传教士和教民的管理思路,从加强对教民的管理转向以祛除民教词讼案件中教会的影响力为目标,进而实现教案的"内政化".这些举措对清末时期江西教案的逐渐和缓发挥了一定的作用,但也导致了官绅的分离,加剧了江西社会的动荡,使清政府在江西的统治陷入更大的危机之中.
Abstract
During the late Qing Dynasty,Jiangxi society was deeply influenced by the missionary cases,which seri-ously threatened the rule of the Qing government.To this end,the governor of Jiangxi took measures to regulate the relationship between officials,gentry,missionary,and civilian,such as establishing the Foreign Affairs Bureau and the Academic Affairs Office,strengthening supervision and assessment of local officials,actively involving Jiangxi gentry,and attempting to establish an effective response mechanism for disposal of Jiangxi missionary cases.At the same time,the governor of Jiangxi changed his management approach towards missionaries and parishioners,from strengthening the management of parishioners to eliminating the influence of the churches in cases of civil litigation,so as to realize the"internal disposal"of missionary cases.These measures played a certain role in the gradual mod-eration of Jiangxi teaching plans in the late Qing Dynasty,but also led to the separation of officials and gentry,inten-sified the social unrest in Jiangxi,and made the Qing government's rule in Jiangxi fall into a greater crisis.
