Modernity originated from the bourgeois revolution,based on the establishment of the capitalist system and the pro-found transformation of production methods.It is an important symbol for human society to enter modern civilization on the basis of establishing modern industry.Marx's critique of capitalist modernity went through a process of ideological evolution from acceptance to belief,from belief to criticism,and from criticism to transcendence.The modernity of capitalism is interde-pendent and inseparable from the material production,spiritual production,and capital logic of capitalism.A deep grasp of Marx's criticism of capitalist modernity will help us to further promote Chinese path to modernization with the historical initia-tive of"bearing the world in mind",and realize the scientific sublation and comprehensive transcendence of western moderniza-tion in the historical change.
