There was a correlation between the Chinese diet culture recorded in the"Record of Peking's Travels"and the image of China portrayed by the Joseon envoys as the'others'.The"zhuan xiang(馔飨)"of Ming and Qing dynasties that the Joseon envoys saw a-long the way was the"lens"through which they perceived the image of China at that time.The various"banquets"that they attended were also an important medium for communicating with the Chinese people.Chinese diet culture is an indispensable part of the Chinese excellent traditional culture and can be seen as a cognitive system for constructing the image of China in other ethnic contexts.From the perspective of Chinese diet culture,it is highly necessary to analyze the process of shaping China's image in the eyes of Joseon envoys using the research method of comparative literature imagology.
