Improving the well-being of ethnic minority residents from social capital perspective——Based on the empirical analysis of CGSS data
Enhancing the happiness of ethnic mi-norities is a crucial means of strengthening the con-sciousness of the Chinese national community and an important measure to consolidate the diverse unity of the Chinese nation and enhance the sense of identity a-mong ethnic minorities.This study,using data from the China General Social Survey(CGSS),constructs an ordered logit regression model to explore the factors in-fluencing the happiness of ethnic minority residents and the mechanisms at play.The research finds that the happiness of ethnic minority residents is significantly influenced by demographic characteristics,socioeconomic status,and personal social capital.Ac-cording to the results of the logit regression model,ef-forts to improve the subjective happiness of ethnic mi-nority residents should focus on creating a social at-mosphere of ethnic unity,mutual assistance,and har-mony,building ethnically integrated communities,cul-tivating diverse social organizations,improving channels for social participation in ethnic areas,and enhancing the levels and capabilities of participation.
