Studies on Giving Better Play to the Supporting Role of New Urbanization in Chinese Path to Modernization
Urbanization is the path we must take to realize modernization,and the people-oriented new urbanization is a strong driving force for Chinese-style modernization.At present,China's urbanization has entered the middle and later stages of rapid development,presenting typical characteristics of"Five Period Superimposed"such as slow urbanization speed,cumulative release of effects,efficient spatial agglomeration,differentiation of urban systems,and improvement of urban quality.At the same time,China's urbanization urgently needs to address major strategic issues such as the citizenization of nearly 300 million rural migrant workers,the spatial distribution of nearly 150 million new urban populations,the continuous cultivation of urban development momentum,and the multiple risks faced by mega cities.In the coming period,it is necessary to focus on key areas and actively and steadily promote the people-oriented new urbanization:focusing on promoting full coverage of urban basic public services for permanent residents to improve the quality of citizenization of agricultural transfer population;building a coordinated development pattern of large,medium,and small cities based on urban agglomerations and metropolitan areas;focusing on improving the level of urban planning,construction,and governance to create livable,resilient,and smart cities;focusing on facilitating the flow of urban and rural factors to deepen the integration of urban and rural development.
