Eco-Compensation:Typology,Development and Prospect
China eco-compensation has two broad type i.e.government-funded and market-based eco-compensation.Government-funded eco-compensation dominates the compensation.Government-funded eco-compensation comprises vertical eco-compensation and horizontal eco-compensation in one category,and comprises sector-based eco-compensation and region-based eco-compensation in another category.China's eco-compensation is ever expanding and growing in investment,areas and types,and legislation is on the fast track.It could be foreseen that eco-compensation will grow larger in investment and areas in general,and local government will catch up to account for a bigger share in the eco-compensation investment.The newly proclaimed Eco-compensation Regulation will promote more innovation in especially market-based eco-compen-sation in China.
