Construction and reliability and validity test of the questionnaire on the nursing quality for delirium prevention in ICU patients
Objective:To construct a questionnaire on the nursing quality for delirium prevention in patients in the intensive care unit(ICU)and test its reliability and validity. Methods:Based on the evaluation index system of nursing quality for delirium prevention in ICU patients constructed by the research team in the early stage, the questionnaire was formed through expert meetings and preliminary surveys.Using the convenience sampling method,a total of 428 ICU nurses were selected as the subjects from 12 tertiary grade A hospitals in Shanxi province,Jilin province, and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region from December 2023 to March 2024.The questionnaire was analyzed, and the reliability and validity were tested. Results:The questionnaire on the nursing quality for delirium prevention in ICU patients includes 3 dimensions and 41 items. The overall Cronbach's α coefficient of the questionnaire was 0.977,and the split-half reliability was 0.944.Exploratory factor analysis extracted 3 common factors, with a cumulative variance contribution rate of 65.577%.After model modification, the confirmatory factor analysis results showed that the questionnaire model had a good fit.The combined reliability(CR)of the three dimensions of the questionnaire was>0.7,and the average variance extracted(AVE)was>0.5.The square root of AVE was greater than the correlation coefficient between the dimensions. Conclusions:The questionnaire on the nursing quality for delirium prevention in ICU patients has good reliability and validity, which can be used for evaluating the quality of nursing care for delirium prevention in ICU patients.
