Based on cognitive principles, affective principles and linguistic principles put forward by H.Douglas Brown, this paper is aimed at the analysis on three principles in FLT of meaningful learning, the language-culture connection and communicative competence from the perspectives of definition, basis of theory and the practical application and pedagogical implication in FLT.
