摘要

莱辛在《拉奥孔》中专门研究过西方绘画的一种艺术惯例,即以"荷马式的云雾"符号作为"神的隐身在场"的"约定俗成的外表标志".同样,在中国传统叙事年画中亦常见以云图、气球、螺旋等形状符号编织和框定相对独立的图像空间.作为一种特殊的带有鲜明"指示"意味的"图像语汇",这些符号在图像叙事时主要用于"标记""不可见"的图景:身份原形、梦幻之境和异能世界,并以图像修辞的方式履行指称标记、解释说明和强调象征等功用.通过"指示符号"的标记,叙事年画将现实与虚幻的情境既区隔又并置,成为一种约定俗成的处理"真假虚实"关系的美术技法."指示符号"促成叙事年画对"纲要式"图像叙述模式的应用,突破静态图像的表意短板,将时间纳入空间,提升了图像叙事的密度和容量.

Abstract

In Gotthold Ephraim Lessing's work Laocoon,he specially studied an artistic convention of western painting,that is,using the"Homeric Cloud"symbol as the"Conventional Outward Sign"of"The Invisible Presence of God".Similarly,a relatively independent image space weaved and confined by shapes like clouds,balloons,and spirals is also common in Chinese traditional narrative new year pictures.As a special image vocabulary with distinct"indicative"meaning while image narration,these symbols primarily function to"mark"the"invisible"scenes in image narration:original identities,dreamlike realms,and supernatural worlds through indexing,the narrative new year pictures separate,and at the same time,juxtapose the reality and the fantasy.Indexing has become a convention-al art technique to deal with the relationship between the virtual and the real.The application of Index in narrative new year pictures breaks through the disadvantages of static image ideogram,brings time into space and promotes the density and capacity of image narration.
