The Belief in the Dragon God of Mount Wutai in the Tang and Song Dynasties——On Cultural Exchange between China and India during the Tang and Song Dynasties
During the Tang and Song Dynasties,Mount Wutai,was very prosperous in the belief of dragon god.There were a large num-ber of spiritual traces related to dragons in the mountains,and the dragon's image was more abundant and its functions were also more powerful.The relationship between Mount Wutai Manjusri Bodhisattva and the Dragon God was not only the confrontation between sup-pression and being suppressed,but also the reconciliation between representatives and being represented.The relationship between the two reflected the integration and interaction between Indian culture and Chinese culture during the Tang and Song dynasties.The two-way exchanges between heterogeneous cultures eventually formed a unique regional culture of Mount Wutai.
