A Study of the Etymology of the Suffix"□[x?u423]"in Datong Dialect
In the Datong dialect,there are many forms of poetry,among which there is a kind of poetry with"□[xəu423]"as the affix,and"□[xəu423]"is located at the end of the word,forming the structure of"X+□[xəu423]".In the past literature,this type of affix is generally represented by the word"猴",so this type of word is often described as"X 猴".Although there is a record word for this type of affix,the academic community has not conducted in-depth research on this word,which is not convincing.Based on the phonet-ic and semantic aspects,through field investigation and comprehensive comparison,this paper believes that the original character of this type of affix is indeed the character"猴".
