Research on the War Poetry of Northern Poets in the Early Yuan Dynasty
Wars erupted frequently in northern China of the early Yuan Dynasty,so that War poetry became the main stream of among all subjects in Poetic Circles,forming distinctive northern war poems in the early Yuan Dynasty.Poets were made up of many nationali-ties and have diverse identities,including Mongolian,Khitan,Sienpi,Han;or Generals,counsellors,civilian official,literati.The War poetry,firstly,were used to record the war veritably,such as march preparation,wartime record and post-war analysis,and so on.Second-ly,poets wrote the War poetry to remark on a war.Not only did they affirm war as a way to end the war itself and express the desire to make great achievements on official career,but also opposed the war and show the damage caused by war to the whole society,people's livelihood and culture,firmly expressing the weariness of the war.The War poetry of Northern poets in the Early Yuan Dynasty enriched poetry contents and recorded various historical events,crediting to Supplementing the lack of historical materials.It also combined narra-tive and documentary writing skills,which had an important research value.
