From Symbolic Representation to Economic Effects:A Historical Analysis of the Great Wall Cultural Heritage
The world-renowned Great Wall is a symbolic representation of the Chinese nation's spirit.The symbolized Great Wall today primarily embodies the national spirit of resisting foreign invaders and protecting Chinese civilization,but it does not fully encompass the social and economic value carried by the Great Wall,resulting in limited and biased recognition of its value.This article,based on a his-torical perspective,examines the economic value of the ancient Great Wall from aspects such as livelihood boundaries,trade routes,spa-tial economy,consolidating political power,and ecological resources.It further reflects on its significance and value for the modern socio-economic development.The aim is to provide a relatively comprehensive interpretation of the economic value embedded in the Great Wall,enriching the economic understanding of Great Wall culture.
