The Development of Education in the Mongolian People's Republic(1924-1954)
In 1924,after the establishment of the Mongolian People's Republic, efforts were concentrated to promote the development of education. In the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the overall cultural level of the Mongolian people was rel-atively low, their economic foundation was relatively weak, they lacked independent educational institutions, and were negatively influ-enced by the Lamaism. In this situation, the Mongolian government has taken multiple measures to develop education, following the example of the Soviet Union in establishing a modern education system:establishing a Ministry of Education responsible for educational affairs, reforming the original Mongolian script, actively expanding the scale of national education schools, and gradually limiting and eliminating the influence of the Lamaism.By the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Mongolian People's Republic in 1954,the country's education system had made remarkable progress on the basis of its original foundation, building a modern education system that adapted to social development. The main reason for this is that the Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party fully plays its leading role in education construction and reform, actively draws on the education experience of various socialist countries, formulates education policies tailored to local conditions, and adopts a school model that is in line with its own development,in contrast to Mongolia's current situa-tion.At the same time, there are also many shortcomings in the development of education, such as excessive reliance on the Soviet edu-cation model, leftist errors in education construction, and the failure to completely eliminate the influence of Lamaism. The 30 year edu-cation development of the People's Republic of Mongolia still has certain reference significance for the construction of education in Chi-na today.
