The life stories of Cheng Zichong are rare.After careful sorting of relevant poetry and literature,it is known that Cheng Zi-chong served as a Shangshulang,Deputy Transport Envoy,and Shaojian.Born around 1238 and still alive in 1304.His grandfather was Cheng Zhen,who served as a censor,and his father,Cheng Siwen,was a Jinshi in the Jin Dynasty.Cheng Zichong's maternal grandfather was the great literary figure Yuan Haowen during the Jin and Mongolia dynasties,and his mother was Yuan Zhen.The poem of Cheng Zhen's last words and the poem of Yuan Haowen's marriage to his daughter have been passed down in the Cheng family for more than 80 years.Famous literati such as Yu Ji and Lu Wengui have many inscriptions,and"Many people in the Hanlin Academy have inscrip-tions".Zhao Mengfu wrote a poem titled"Sending off Cheng Zichong to Hangzhou as Vice Minister of Transport",which was written be-tween 1287 and 1292 in the capital city of Yuan Dynasty.This article examines the family background,life,and social interactions of Cheng Zichong.
