The emergence of for-profit private colleges and universities has injected new vitality into the private higher education market,but also brought the social doubts about the"contradiction"between the profit and the public welfare of the profit-oriented private colleges and universities.The reason why people have doubts varies;subjectively speaking,people's understanding of the for-profit nature and the public welfare nature of private education is in a chaotic state for a long time,leading to the disconnection of acknowledge of the nature of capital,the underlying logic of investment,the nature of education and the underlying logic of education;objectively speaking,it is because profit-oriented private colleges and universities which established in accordance with market logic and registered in the form of companies have a natural pursuit of profit,and therefore makes the impact of profitability on public welfare more apparent.Consequently,to dispel the doubts of society,we need to firstly analyze the profit-making nature and public welfare value of private colleges and universities and then establish the linkage adjustment mechanism between the government,society and for-profit private colleges and universities on this basis,to generate a collaborative and adaptive mode of government"guidance and regulation",social"coordination and supervision",and"subject and initiative"response from for-profit private colleges and universities,in order to comprehensively guarantee public welfare runs through the process of pursuing profitability.
