A Study on the Pattern Characteristics of the Sakya Lamdre Master's Statue in the Mindrolling Monastery Collection
As a typical representative of forged bronze statues of Buddhism in Xizang,the statue of Sakya Lamdre in Mindrolling Monastery has significant academic value in determining the style,image features,and dating of this group of statues.Based on the research of predecessors,this article takes the clothing patterns of the statues as an example to confirm further the identity of the Lamdre statue found in the hall of Mindrolling Monastery and systematically discusses the relationship between the statues and the Khyentse School of Painting.Through the verification of literature and images,this paper explores the meanings of images contained in the clothing patterns of the statues,as well as their unique traditional craftsmanship.Moreover,this article puts this group of statues in the historical context of the statues of Buddist masters in Xizang in the 16th century,attempting to provide important clues for clarifying the style development history of Buddhist gold and copper statues in Xizang.
