Objective To investigate the oxidative stress indicators effects of soft capsule of compound oil of jujube, arboruitae, and gardenia (COJAG) on blood lipid levels and glutathione (GSH) and malondialdehyde (MDA) in obese rats. Methods 48 SD rats, half male and half female, were selected and randomly divided into blank control group, model control group, simvastatin group (0.3 mg/100 g),low dose group of COJAG (0.072 g/100 g),middle dose group of COJAG (0.18 g/100 g),high dose group of COJAG (0.45 g/100 g) according to their body weights. Blank control group give ordinary feed, the rest of the groups give high fat feed,at the same time each drug administration group gavage corresponding dose of drugs. Five weeks later, rats were anesthetized with pentobarbital sodium via intraperitoneal injection. The enucleation of the eyeball was used for blood collection, and the serum was separated to detect total cholesterol (TC),total triglycerides (TG),high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C),and GSH、MDA in the serum of SD rats. Results After a high-fat diet, the body mass of the model control group rats increased, serum TC,TG,and LDL-C levels increased,HDL-C levels decreased, and GSH levels decreased. Compared with the blank control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). After drug intervention, the body mass of rats in each dose group of COJAG increased, serum TC,TG,and LDL-C levels decreased,HDL-C levels increased,GSH levels significantly increased, and MDA levels significantly decreased. Compared with the model control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion COJAG can reduce the blood lipid level of high-fat diet-induced obese rats, elevate the levels of glutathione and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol in their bodies, and reduce the level of malondialdehyde in their bodies, with antioxidant capacity.
