Objective To investigate the status and influencing factors of frailty among the elderly in nursing homes in Xi'an,with the aim of providing reference for the prevention and intervention of frailty among the elderly in nursing homes. Methods From January to March 2024,257 elderly people from some nursing homes in Xi'an were selected by convenience sampling and interviewed face to face. Results Among the 257 elderly individuals residing in nursing homes,60 exhibited signs of frailty,with a prevalence rate of 23.35%. The results of the multivariate logistic regression analysis indicated that hearing loss (OR=2.34,95%CI:1.12~4.89),urinary catheter use (OR=17.47,95%CI:1.49~205.01),and mini nutritional assessment score (OR=0.88,95%CI:0.81~0.97) were independent influencing factors for frailty of the elderly in nursing homes. Conclusion Frailty is a prevalent condition among the elderly population residing in nursing homes in Xi'an. This is influenced by a multitude of factors. It is crucial to prioritize the wellbeing of nursing home staff and implement targeted intervention strategies to enhance the frail elderly's quality of life.
