Correlation study of hemoglobin and albumin levels and red blood cell distribution width with prognosis of heart failure
OBJECTIVE To investigate the correlation of hemoglobin and albumin levels and red blood cell distribution width(RDW)with the prognosis of heart failure.METHODS The clinical data of 86 patients with heart failure admitted to Luoyang Central Hospital from January 2020 to June 2023 were included in the observation group, and the clinical data of 49 patients without heart failure were included in the control group during the same period.General data, hemoglobin and albumin levels and RDW were compared between the two groups. In the observation group,23 patients who experienced all-cause death/heart failure re-admission within 3 months after discharge were included in the poor prognosis group, and the remaining 63 patients were included in the good prognosis group. The levels of hemoglobin and albumin and RDW were compared between the two groups. The correlation of hemoglobin and albumin levels and RDW with the prognosis of heart failure and the predictive value of poor prognosis of heart failure were further analyzed.RESULTS There were no significant differences in age, gender, body mass index, hypertension, diabetes and hyperlipidemia between the two groups(P>0.05).Compared with the control group, the levels of hemoglobin and albumin in the observation group were significantly decreased, and RDW was significantly increased with statistical significance(P<0.05).Compared with the poor prognosis group, the levels of hemoglobin and albumin in the good prognosis group were significantly increased, and RDW was significantly decreased, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The prediction thresholds of hemoglobin, albumin and RDW were 131.35,38.22 g/L and 0.155 g/dL,respectively.The area under the curve of the three single indicators and the combined prediction of poor prognosis of heart failure were 0.627,0.717,0.702 and 0.809,respectively.The area under the curve of the three combined indicators was the largest, and the sensitivity and specificity were relatively high.CONCLUSION The significant decrease of hemoglobin and albumin levels and the significant increase of RDW are related to the poor prognosis of patients with heart failure, and the combination of the three has certain application value in predicting the poor prognosis of heart failure.
