Changes of CD4+and CD8+lymphoid count and their relationship with prognosis in acquired immuno deficiency syndnme patients combined with cryptococcal meningitis
OBJECTIVE To investigate the change of CD4+lymphocyte count and CD4+/CD8+ratio and its relationship with prognosis in peripheral blood of acquired immuno deficiency syndnme(AIDS)patients combined with cryptococcal meningitis.METHODS A total of 86 AIDS patients combined with cryptococcal meningitis admitted to the Sixth People's Hospital of Zhengzhou from January 2019 to May 2023 were included in the study group, and 30 healthy subjects were included in the control group at the same time. The levels of CD4+lymphocytes and the ratio of CD4+/CD8+in peripheral blood of the two groups were detected by flow cytometry and compared. The prognosis of patients in the study group was analyzed.RESULTS CD4+lymphocyte count, and the ratio of CD4+/CD8+in peripheral blood of the study group were significantly lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).From the time of admission to 3 months after discharge, there was no loss of follow-up cases.74 patients survived and 12 died. The count of CD4+lymphocytes in peripheral blood<50/μL,the proportion of consciousness disorder, the number of HIV RNA,intracranial pressure and other complications in the death group were significantly higher than those in the survival group(P<0.05).Disturbance of consciousness, low peripheral blood CD4+count,high HIV RNA,high intracranial pressure and other complications were all risk factors for poor prognosis in AIDS patients combined with cryptococcal meningitis(P<0.05).CONCLUSIONS CD4+lymphoid count decreased significantly in AIDS patients combined with cryptococcal meningitis.Low levels of CD4+were associated with poor prognosis.
