Effect of empathetic nursing model on the mood state and coping style of elderly patients with depression
OBJECTIVE To investigate the effect of empathetic nursing mode on the improvement of mood state and coping style in elderly patients with depression.METHODS A total of 180 elderly patients diagnosed with depression from January 2020 to December 2022 were selected and divided into control group and observation group by random number table method,with 90 cases in each group.The control group received routine nursing guidance,while the observation group received empathetic nursing intervention under routine guidance.The depression degree,mood state and coping style of the two groups were compared at different intervention stages.RESULTS After the intervention,the score of Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD)in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.05),and the score of Mood State Scale(POMS)was significantly lower/higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).The scores of Medical Coping Mode Questionnaire(MCMQ)were significantly lower/higher than those of control group(P<0.05).CONCLUSIONS The intervention of empathic nursing mode can change the coping style of elderly patients with depression,improve their mood state,and reduce their depression.
