Analysis of the impact of holistic nursing application on postoperative vision and quality of life in patients with retinal detachment
OBJECTIVE To explore the impact of holistic nursing care on postoperative visual acuity and quality of life in retinal detachment patients.METHODS Within the timeframe of June 2021 to March 2023,a total of 84 patients with retinal detachment who underwent surgery were chosen and evenly distributed into two groups using the random number table approach. In the control group, standard nursing practices were implemented, whereas holistic nursing interventions were introduced in the observation group on top of the standard care provided to the control group. The postoperative visual acuity improvement, quality of life before and after intervention,an analysis was conducted to compare the complications and nursing evaluations of both groups.RESULTS the postoperative visual acuity improvement rate of the observation group(73.8%)was higher than that of the control group(52.4%,x2=4.141,P=0.041).Post-intervention,the observation group demonstrated higher SF-36 scores in comparison with the control group(P<0.05).The observation group experienced a lower incidence of postoperative complications than the control group(P<0.05).The observation group demonstrated higher overall patient satisfaction in the nursing evaluation, surpassing that of the control group(P<0.05).CONCLUSIONS Patients who receive holistic nursing have a lower likelihood of experiencing postoperative complications with retinal detachment, improve the postoperative visual acuity and quality of life of patients, and obtain more satisfactory evaluation of nursing work.
