Infrared thermography to evaluate the clinical effect and dose-effect analysis of acupuncture combined with medicine in the treatment of central facial paralysis
Objective:To analyze the clinical effect and dose-effect relationship of acupuncture combined with medicine in the treatment of central facial paralysis by infrared thermography. Methods:A total of 150 patients with central facial paralysis who were treated in Guangzhou Twelfth People's Hospital and Southern Theater Air Force Hospital from March 2023 to May 2024 were selected and divided into 6 groups according to random number table, with 25 patients in each group.Group A:frequency 16 times/min electroacupuncture combined with 60g astragalus Buyang Huanwu decoction;group B:22 times/min frequency electroacupuncture combined with 60g astragalus Buyang Huanwu decoction;group C:26 times/min frequency electroacupuncture combined with 60g astragalus Buyang Huanwu decoction;group D:frequency 16 times/min electroacupuncture combined with 120g astragalus Buyang Huanwu decoction;group E:frequency 22 times/min electroacupuncture combined with 120g astragalus Buyang Huanwu decoction;group F:frequency 26 times/min electroacupuncture combined with 120g astragalus Buyang Huanwu decoction. The curative effect of 6 groups was compared. Results:After treatment, the static scores of nasolabial groove and corner of mouth in the six groups were significantly decreased compared with before treatment(P<0.05).The static scores of nasolabial groove and corner of mouth were the highest in group A,followed by group B,and lower in groups C,D,E and F(P<0.05).The voluntary movement scores of open mouth smiling, nose shrugging and lip sucking in the six groups were significantly higher than those before treatment(P<0.05).Among the groups, group A had the lowest score, followed by groups B,C and D,and then groups E and F(P<0.05).After treatment, the oral area temperature was lower in groups A and B,but higher in groups C,D,E and F(P<0.05).The periocular temperature was lower in groups A and B,but higher in groups C,D,E and F(P<0.05).The temperature in the perifrontal area was lower in groups A and B,followed by groups C,D and F,and higher in group E(P<0.05).The temperature in the zygomatic region was lower in groups A and B,followed by groups C and D,and higher in groups E and F(P<0.05).Conclusion:For central facial paralysis with different manifestations, the corresponding dose of astragalus Buyang Huanwu decoction and the intensity of electroacupuncture can achieve more ideal efficacy.Infrared thermography evaluation has a good clinical effect of acupuncture combined with medicine in the treatment of central facial paralysis, which can improve the facial microcirculation, enhance the life ability and improve the prognosis.
