Clinical study on liver-soothing and mind-regulating acupuncture combined with Danzhi Xiaoyao Powder for the treatment of liver-Qi stagnation and fire-transformation type insomnia
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of liver-soothing and mind-regulating acupuncture combined with Danzhi Xiaoyao Powder in the treatment of liver-Qi stagnation and fire-transformation type insomnia,and its influence on sleep quality and serum neurotransmitter level.Methods:A total of 120 patients with liver-Qi stagnation and fire-transformation type insomnia admitted to Zhanjiang Second Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from May 2022 to May 2024 were selected to participate in the study,and divided into control group and experimental group.In the control group,60 patients were treated with liver-soothing and mind-regulating acupuncture,while in the experimental group,60 patients were treated with liver-soothing and mind-regulating acupuncture combined with Danzhi Xiaoyao Powder.Both groups were treated for 8 weeks.Serological neurotransmitter level,Pittsburgh sleep quality index score and TCM syndrome score before and after treatment were compared between the two groups.Results After treatment,the serum 5-HT in the experimental group was significantly higher,DA and NE were significantly lower than those in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the scores of sleep time,sleep disorder,sleep efficiency and subjective sleep quality score in the experimental group were significantly lower than those in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,difficulty in sleeping,irritability,sleeplessness after waking,headache and facial redness,chest tightness and rib pain scores in the experimental group were significantly lower than those in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Liver-soothing and mind-regulating acupuncture combined with Danzhi Xiaoyao Powder can effectively improve the level of serum 5-HT,reduce the level of serum DA and NE,improve the quality of sleep,alleviate clinical symptoms in patients with liver-Qi stagnation and fire-transformation type insomnia,and is worthy of clinical promotion.
