Research on the Method of Measuring the Length of the Self-baking Electrode in a Submerged Arc Furnace Based on Modal Analysis
With the development of modern technology, the traditional method of manually measuring the electrode length of ore heating furnaces has gradually been replaced by diversified computer technology and sensor technology, etc.A modal analysis method is proposed. The self-baking electrode of the ore furnace is simplified to a one-dimensional sim-ply supported beam, and an excitation input signal is generated by forcefully hammering the ore furnace wall. The signal is transmitted from the electrode cylinder wall of the ore furnace to the bottom graphite electrode and received through reflection.A multi degree of freedom motion equation is established using multi-dimensional vibration to solve the elec-trode vibration parameters, and then substitute them to solve the electrode length. The measurement of self-baked elec-trode length is transformed into the measurement of electrode cylinder length by using modal analysis method, which greatly reduces the difficulty of electrode length measurement and avoiding excessive resource loss. This study has a pro-moting effect on improving the production efficiency of the submerged arc furnace industry, while reducing resource loss and environmental pollution.
