Design of RDIU Protocol Converter Based on Hardware Architecture
The remote data interface unit(RDIU)is responsible for completing the protocol conversion in the aircraft. It allows remote sensors and actuators and other subsystems with multiple protocols to connect to the aircraft backbone network to form a heterogeneous airborne network configuration. There are some problems in the existing RDIU protocol conversion technology, such as incomplete protocols involved in the conversion, long conversion cycle, and poor data real-time performance.Aiming at the ARINC429,ARINC825,and UART bus protocols used by remote data devices and the aircraft global data AFDX bus protocol, this study proposed a protocol conversion principle, and completed hardware architecture design for protocol conversion, and completed the detailed design using the hardware description language Verilog HDL.The results of the simulation tests show that the design can correctly complete the conversion work of multiple protocols.Hardware architecture implementation improves data processing efficiency.
