The Impact of Urban and Rural Residents'Endowment Insurance on the Eco-nomic Mobility of Family Generations:Empirical Analysis Based on 2018 CHARLS Data
Using the data of"China Health and Pension Longitudinal Survey"(CHARLS),the impact of urban and rural residents'pension insurance on the economic flow of parent-child generation within families was empirically analyzed by constructing a multivariate linear model. The results show that the"economically ori-ented"old-age insurance for urban and rural residents squeezes out the economic support provided by the children to the parents, but it has no significant impact on the economic"reverse feeding"of the parents. The marital status, the level of education and parental family assets all positively affect the two-way flow of the in-tergenerational economy of the family. There is a"comparison effect"and a"demonstration effect"between children;the family income of the offspring positively influences the economic support of the upper generation. Therefore,it is necessary to improve the level of urban residence security and play the role of family emotional security, encourage the elderly to take care of their grandchildren, take care of the disabled elderly with only children and improve the market for elderly care services.
