Analysis of the Geo-setting of South Sudan and Its Implications for China-South Sudan Geopolitical Cooperation
South Sudan is an important node of the Belt and Road Initiative and China-Africa cooperation. The fragility and sensitivity of its natural and human environment has become an important factor hindering the process of building the South Sudanese nation-state and keeping it locked in the game of the great powers.Under the causal and constructive mechanisms,South Sudan has complex and very different geo-relationships with regional countries as well as with China and the United States due to the influence of national interests and changes in geo-setting.The broken geographical environment and complex geo-relationships have shaped the conceptual, material and spatial structure of South Sudan, which is a typical compound crisis country. The important path for further deepening China-South Sudan geo-cooperation in the century of change lies in ana-lyzing and predicting the constituent elements of South Sudan's geo-setting and actively constructing an effec-tive mechanism of cross-scale and cross-field interactions with the geopolitical entities of interest,so as to break the developmental dilemmas faced by China-South Sudan geo-cooperation.
