objective to analyze the joint theophylline dose glucocorticoid treatment the curative effect of elderly asthma. Selection method of object of study in June 2011 to April 2011 at our hospital treated 80 cases of elderly patients with asthma, random grouping method. Control group patients received low- dose glucocorticoids treatment, the experimental group patients received low- dose glu-cocorticoids with theophyl ine therapy. Treatment for3 months in a row, comparative analysis of two groups before and after treatment in patients with pulmonary function changes, the incidence of adverse reactions during the period of treatment differences. The results of All of the patients after treatment of forced expiratory volume in 1 second (FEV1) and forced vital capacity (FVC), forced vital capacity (VC), peak expiratory flow (PEF), and other indicators was improved, the group of indicators improved significantly greater than the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P< 0.05). Incidence of adverse reactions during experimental group patients compared with control group, there was no statistically significant difference (P > 0.05). Conclusion low- dose glucocorticoids with theophylline therapy in elderly patients with asthma can improve lung function, and less adverse reaction, has the high security, is worth promoting.
