Xanthophyll is one of the carotenoid pigments. The recent researches have found that thexanthophyll has some functions such as protecting eyesight,antioxidation and anticanceratiorl. This paperintroduces xanthophyll about its structure,properties, pharmacy functions,current researchsituation and application prospect.
